What should I bring to my IID Installation appointment?
Bring a photo ID and proof of residence in the form of a document verifying your address.  You may also be asked to bring any documents that pertain to your case, depending on the state in which you or your program are located.  If any other documents are required, one of our friendly customer service advisors will let you know.
What is the difference between a suspended license and a restricted drivers license?
In many states, you cannot drive on a suspended license.  In other states, your travel with a suspended license is significantly restricted.  However, with a restricted driver’s license, you can drive anytime and anywhere as long as you have an ignition interlock device installed.
What is an Ignition Interlock Device (IID)?
An Ignition Interlock Device is a piece of electronic equipment that tests your level of alcohol consumption and prevents you from driving your car, truck, SUV, or crossover vehicle until you can pass a test.  It is installed in your vehicle’s electrical system and interrupts the starter in the event of a failed test.  In cases of a DUI or a DWI charge, an Ignition Interlock Device and restricted driver’s license can often take the place of a suspended license.
Is this a unit that I own or are there monthly rental/lease fee associated?
You own the untit after purchase. There is no monthly rental/lease fees associated. If you need monthly monitoring, then there would be a monthly charge for that
Does My State Approve Of The Unit?
We are available in all 50 states. You will have to take the information to your monitor and they can get us approved outside of the DMV. Our Ignition Interlock and Bluetooth Breathalyzers are NHTSA & DOT approved. We recommend speaking with your probation officer or court coordinator and insure this is something they would allow in your court. If they have questions, they may also contact a representative for more information.
Does the system include vehicle hardware and the handheld device?
The CheckBAC Bundles platform includes the CheckBAC Drive module and the breathalyzer. Monitoring is not included, therefore, you will need to add the CheckBAC Month-to-Month Court Ordered Monitoring before checkout. 
How often do I need to calibrate the breathalyzer device?
Since we use a variety of Bluetooth breathalyzers, the calibration times will be different for each. Your instructions will be device specific and included in the packaging. In the event the device is not cleaned, additional charges will be  applied.
Will I have to take a test while driving?
NO. You are encouraged to make a full stop before taking any test. There will be times when your device will prompt you to take a test, but you will always have plenty of time—roughly five minutes—to pull over comfortably and safely before taking your test.
What is the CheckBAC Drive system?
CheckBAC is the world's 1st Bluetooth involuntary in-vehicle alcohol testing platform for vehicles. CheckBAC combines industry-accurate Bluetooth technology in a simple, easy-to-use smartphone app, and a proprietary management platform combined with a vehicle control module.
How do I know if I'm eligible for an IID?
Check with your alcohol monitoring authority, such as your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Public Safety (DPS), or related institution for specific eligibility requirements. Many states require an IID in order to keep driving after a DUI.
How do I know what kind of IID to get?
Your court documents will specify exactly what is required of your Ignition Interlock Device. Is the CheckBAC Drive system the same as the traditional Ignition Interlocks Devices that are available?
The CheckBAC Drive system is not an ignition interlock, it has an option that can prohibit vehicle operation if alcohol is detected. It is a more discrete and works with your mobile device and a mobile breathalyzer. We have our equipment in states in leu of court ordered traditional ignition interlock devices.

Does both apps require a subscription?
Yes, Once you select the bundle or breathalyzer of choice, make a selection for the monitor service of choice and add to cart. 
I am mechanically inclined and wonder if I could do the install?
While there are insrtuctions included in the kit, we highly reccomend you use an installer who specializes in ignition interlocks. We have a list of installers that we provide upon request after your purchase based on your location.
Is there a contract?
There is no contract. You can cancel at any time with the month-to-month option. 
Is there a monthly subscription fee?
The subscription fee varies between the month-to-month option and the annual subscription. Go to:

What is the difference between CheckBAC and SobrDrive?
CheckBAC is our involuntary alcohol system and SobrDrive is our voluntary.
Both systems have the ability to shut the vehicle off. With CheckBAC someone else is monitoring and swetting the parameters, but with SobrDrive you set gthe parameters yourself and have to be proactive in activating the platform
I am looking for a voluntary Ignition Interlock Device for my child and I would like to have control of the portal
With CheckBAC Drive you would have access to the admin portal as a monitor. This gives you the ability to set schedules or send random BAC tests. And while there are instructions included in the kit, we highly recommend you find an installer who specializes in ignition interlocks. We have a list of installers that is available upon request.

Why Hasn't My Order Come Yet?
While some orders can arrive earlier than expected, others may be longer due to holidays, customs, and other logistical issues. If your order hasn't arrived in 2 weeks look for our 'Contact Us' tab at the bottom of your screen and our personal customer support representatives will be able to assist.
When Will I Get My Order?
Estimated processing time: 24 -48 hours after purchase of device. Shipping times vary from the location you are based and the delivery option you choose at time of checkout.
